The North Haven Learning Grounds is a naturalization project at North Haven School, in the heart of our community in Northwest Calgary. The project will bring biodiversity to a grassed schoolyard and create an accessible outdoor gathering space in the neighbourhood
Goals for the project
- Create a space for outdoor learning, exploration through play and gathering through installation of an outdoor classroom and natural amphitheatre
- Increase biodiversity and natural habitat through planting of native species
- Improve mobility options through installation of accessible pathways
- Respond to the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action through Indigenous consultation and artwork
